Galatians 5:1 – “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”
---
Hello, it’s Vic Johnson and this is your Monday Morning Spirit Spark.
This week, America celebrates independence.
Fireworks, flags, and a freedom hard-won by sacrifice.
But there’s another freedom worth celebrating — One not granted by governments, and not taken by force. The freedom that only Christ gives.
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free…” (Galatians 5:1)
We’re not just saved from sin — we’re set free from slavery.
Free from shame that keeps whispering about your past.
Free from guilt that never seems to let go.
Free from the pressure to prove yourself, to earn love, to carry burdens God never asked you to carry.
This is the kind of freedom that can’t be revoked. Not by circumstance. Not by failure. Not by the opinions of others.
But Paul gives us a charge with that promise:
“Stand firm… and don’t go back.”
Don’t go back to needless striving.
Don’t go back to the old lies.
Don’t go back to living like you’re still a prisoner—when Jesus already threw the door wide open.
So this Monday, wave your flag—but lift your hands too. You’re not just free to live how you want. You’re free to live how He wants.
>“Lord, thank You for setting me free — not just from my sin, but from myself. Help me walk in that freedom today — boldly, joyfully, and without turning back.”
That’s your Spirit Spark for today:
True freedom isn’t political — it’s spiritual. And in Christ, it’s already yours.
And that’s worth waking up for.
