1 Peter 5:7 – “Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.”
---
Hello, it’s Vic Johnson and this is your Monday Morning Spirit Spark.
You aren’t made to carry everything.
But most of us try, don’t we? We white-knuckle our way through stress, quietly believing that holding it all together is a form of strength.
But 1 Peter 5:7 gives us a better way:
“Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.”
It doesn’t say manage your anxiety. It doesn’t say hide it, explain it, or ignore it.
It says — cast it. Fling it off your shoulders and into the hands of the One who can handle it.
Why?
Because He cares.
Not just about the big stuff. But all of it.
The deadline you’re dreading.
The diagnosis that hasn’t come back.
The financial hole you can’t dig out of.
The thing that keeps you up at 3 a.m. replaying worst-case scenarios.
He sees it. And He says: Give it to Me.
You were never meant to carry what only God can carry.
So if you’re starting this week stressed out, maybe it’s time to lay it down. Not once. Not perfectly. But moment by moment, breath by breath.
Here’s a prayer to start casting:
> “Lord, I can’t carry all this — and I’m not supposed to. I cast every worry, every unknown, every weight at Your feet. Because You care. And You’re enough.”
That’s your Spirit Spark for today:
You weren’t created to carry the weight of the world — just to trust the One who already is.
And that’s worth waking up for.
